The Family Facilitation Course is a four day curriculum designed to enhance facilitation skills for those in a family business interested in establishing and/or facilitating family meetings, or for professionals and advisors to family businesses interested in helping business families achieve greater success. The Family Business Meeting, or Council, is where the business of the family is discussed and the interface between the business and all of the members the family is managed. In some respects the family business meeting serves as a pseudo “board of directors” for the family. Through the family business meeting all members of the family can engage in open dialogue and be respectfully heard. More specifically, families can use family meetings to plan their participation in the business; recognize and resolve conflict; open up the succession process; plan for the future ownership of the business; help children manage inherited wealth; preserve and articulate family values, traditions and history; and manage relations between the family and your Board of Directors. Well run family business meetings can strengthen the business and the families that run them.
