Will represent Manitoba in the national competition
The Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) Manitoba is pleased to announce Independent Jewellers. as the 2016 Manitoba Family Enterprise of the Year, at a gala event held at the Inn at the Forks last evening.
Independent Jewellers was founded in 1937 by John H. Epp. Today his grandsons, Jeremy and Jonathan Epp operate this family owned business carrying on their Grandfather’s tradition. The company has grown over the years, adding luxury brands to its portfolio and always looking for popular new brands for the Winnipeg market. Independent Jewellers has two locations in Winnipeg and this year, Jeremy and Jonathan will be building a brand new free standing store that will be one of the finest in Canada.
Attendees enjoyed the behind-the-scenes family stories told by Independent Jewellers and the other three finalists Birkett Freight Solutions, Canadian Footwear Ltd. and Wild West Seasonings.
Since 1983, the Family Enterprise of the Year Award has recognized significant achievements by Canadian family businesses, acknowledging their importance in Canada’s economy. This association understands the unique challenges that face family owned business and recognizes the contribution each of these businesses makes to our local and national economy. Every nomination must meet eligibility requirements and undergoes a rigorous judging process to become a finalist and a winner.
