
At a Gala Dinner held at the exclusive Terminal City Club on Thursday May 26th, 2011, the Edwards family of Saskatoon Funeral Home was awarded the 2011 Family Enterprise of the Year Award by the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise. The family stories of the three finalists Saskatoon Funeral Home (Saskatoon Chapter), Grouse Mountain Resort Ltd. (Vancouver Region Chapter), and Mother Parkers Tea and Coffee (GTA Chapter) were presented during the gala dinner.
All were winners within their own chapters of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise. The winners from across Canada were also celebrated at the event.
There are 5 family members involved in the business - Bill Edwards, President and CEO; his wife Eleanor and his son Morgan; Bill's brother David Edwards and his sister Brenda Nissen serve on the Board of Directors. Their history speaks of true entrepreneurial spirit.
