A message from the CAFE Symposium Chair

Come visit us in Regina !

As your Symposium chair, it has been a great honor and privilege to work closely with our local volunteers and National staff in what will be the best CAFE Symposium to date.  CAFE Regina has been working towards the goal of hosting Symposium since the chapter was established in 2002.  I am an eternal optimist, I believed that we could do it and last year with the blessing and support of my Regina board, we were successful in our bid to host Symposium 2010.

Symposium is always a great time to make new friends and catch up with old ones.  The speakers and workshops centered around our theme: Information, Inspiration, Innovation will energize you and bring out your creativity.  Our home base for Symposium is the Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza , former CN hotel located across from Victoria Park.  Be sure to visit the park during your visit to take in the rich history recorded there.  Just a few steps down the street you will find an incredible sculpture series, come and see why I label it as indescribable.

Plan to stay the weekend in Regina to discover the 2300 acre Wascana Park , many museums and the renowned Cathedral Village Arts Festival on May 28.  Artists and Artisans from all over the province gather to show their wares on this annual closed street festival, just blocks from downtown.  A trip to Saskatchewan would be incomplete without a trip to Historic Moose Jaw – find out how the notorious Al Capone got around the prohibition.

CAFE has packed a lot of value into our new 2-day format providing you with more flexibility to combine business and travel.  We are committed to providing you with great value for your educational investment with inspirational tools you can use to innovate your Family Enterprise.

Regina is a fun place with lots of great people. We look forward to your visit!

When I signed up to attend the CAFE 2008 Symposium I looked forward to the various sessions being not only informative but relevant to the unique issues faced by family businesses and I was not disappointed! The unique value that CAFE’s national symposium adds is that not only do its sessions touch on the latest relevant issues facing businesses today, but that it allows you to meet and share a wealth of experiences with other professionals working in family business.  That opportunity to connect and share with others in family business is something that only an outstanding organization like CAFE can provide.
