Welcome to CAFE Montreal
The Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) is a not-for-profit national organization established in 1983, dedicated to promoting the well-being and understanding of families in business.
There are CAFE Chapters within most major business regions, stretching from the coast of Vancouver Island to the coast of
Nova Scotia .
CAFE offers an outsider's perspective and an insider's understaning of family businesses. CAFE's objective is to educate, inform and encourage its members in areas of unique interest to family business, therough a stimulating program of activities that provide the best sources of information and professional advice available.
Throughout this site, you can access information on CAFE that is national in scope, such as history, national programs and resources available, or information that is specific to the individual Chapters, like a calendar of events, Chapter newsletter and Chapter programs.
Interested in learning more about the dynamics of family business and how the Canadian economy is affected? Do you operate or have shares in or work in a family business? | The Schiffers have been involved in CAFE for the past two and a half years, and Anita agrees that membership in the Association provided support when it was needed most. “It was great for our family to have confirmation from the Association that we were on the right path with our succession plan and had a firm foundation for further growth. Membership in CAFE has really helped us as a family business, especially considering that I am the only child actively working in the business. Advice from CAFE has meant that we have incorporated useful elements and made some improvements to our existing succession plan – all of which has seen the whole family being more involved.” |
